SubLab XL not compatible with mac OS 15 beta (sequoia)

Same here. I can’t press the launch button. I really need the plugin to work, but there is no way of getting past the launch screen.

Hi again, so to give you another update, we’re making progress but we have hit a small hurdle which is taking longer than anticipated to resolve. Our development team is addressing it as quickly as possible, and as soon as the beta version is available I’ll make sure it’s sent directly to you. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to work on this update.

whats the “small hurdle”?

Hopefully this sublab xl update future proofs any mac os updates for those of us that update our os when they become available.

Not aiming any frustration at the team responding here in these threads, but this just isn’t a good look. Going on for almost a month since the OS update and since June for beta testers. I have not had a single issue with any other plugin since this update. Can ya’ll send us a free Circle2 after this update finally comes out or something?

If you look back at the forum posts, this has happened with other macOS releases also. I think something is fundamentally wrong with their DRM/activation process.

@Julia Thanks for keeping us updated. The timing is frustrating.

In the meantime for those of you who want to explore a working alternative, UJAM Subcraft was just released. And it has a 7-day trial. And some of the features some of you requested in SubLab XL, like a smart randomizer.

It’s not about keeping the stress off the devs, we paid for their VST that happens to be the 1:1, open your daw and count, the ONE and only plugin that doesn’t work. I have plugins from 2008 working fine that haven’t received updates in years.

Idk man, i don’t think there’s any devs working on this thing at all. if I had several hundred, perhaps thousands of people that were so stoked with my software they not only paid me for it but actually seem to have withdrawals from not being able to use it; Id like to think I wouldn’t be frustrated with my people being frustrated with me straight sleepin on yall.

How many devs are unaware of GitHub? How many open-source tools are there to scanalyze your source code for errors in real time?

June? July? Tuesday? I feel like I’m on spongebob

6 MONTHS LATER

Julia has actually given us zero update :smiling_face_with_tear:
It’s gone from on the radar, to on the to do list, to working frantically and will be done in a few days, back to ghosting us. Lol Julia Ai, they just have their chatbot dealing with us.

This is actually kind of wild can I just have my money back please so I can put it toward engineering my own vst thank you :sleepy::headstone:

Never mind I lost my job tho, thank you

Another disgruntled SublabXL user here…

I am currently unable to complete multiple projects due to this authorization issue and its getting to the point where I am considering replacing the plugin instance in my projects and recreating my subbass section because I have no clue when compatibility will be sorted out.
It is unfair to the customers who bought this plugin to be in the dark about when compatibility is expected and why it is taking so long to be addressed. As multiple people have pointed out, its the only plugin on my system that is giving me problems. I am sure the devs are working to get this resolved but some transparency about whats going on will be appreciated by the Sublab community.

I also have to say, this is extremely frustrating. Protecting your software with a license activation system is fair - but making it unusable through a faulty activation system to users that have actually PAID that software is absolutely mad.
Especially after Sequioa Beta is out since July. This has to be the first thing that has to be tested. Even more since it’s not the first time this happened

Here are people actually losing jobs because they relied on this software.
Coming up with a beta after months of the initial beta release of sequoia is TOO SLOW. Someone has to test this, before people complain about it.

If it’s not working, get rid of that license system or make it open source.

Sorry but there’s not much to excuse at this point.
I’m very frustrated, I’m checking this forum daily and I can’t continue on this project, cause the beat relied heavily on Sublab.

I completely understand your frustration and we’re working as fast as we can to resolve the compatibility issue.

To add more context, some OS updates don’t require any action from us, they just work out of the box. And some OS updates involve addressing deeper system-level changes introduced by Apple, which is the case with this Sequoia update. While it might seem like a quick fix from the outside, the reality is more complex. Regarding any activation system concerns, there’s no underlying issue, the issue is specific to the security and framework changes introduced in this Sequoia update.

And regarding your @lilpowd comment about being an AI or chatbot—I’m neither. Anyone who’s chatted with me over the years on our forum or through support knows that. My role on the forum is to help out however I can and to keep the lines of communication open between forum members and our dev team, so let’s keep things constructive.

Hey everyone @here,

Firstly, Julia is not a bot :robot:

In some good news, we’ve been working here on the Sequoia update and have managed to get everything fixed up. We’ll be releasing the beta in the next days, I’ll post here once it is uploaded. We might run into some issues during testing, but so far so good and its going to schedule. Thanks for the patience guys!

Fantastic. I just installed this for the first time and it crashes both Ableton and in standalone the moment I try opening it. M3 MacBook on Sequoia. :frowning: Hoping that beta comes through ASAP.

We’re on it @focal6!

Any work being done on the regular old Sublab as well?

Hey @Gavin_FAW & @Julia - are we still looking good for a release of the beta today?
