You mentioned there being a small hurdle with the Apple security updates specifically,
Is it only MacOS? Sublabxl is absolutely worth going and buying a lil windows laptop and activating my license on that? is that an option for us Mac users? Obviously not the most feasible route but is it a viable option ?
trying(involuntarily) to be patient @Gavin_FAW because its apparent that youre the only dev on this project and simply no software compares. Have you considered that you have the power to change life as we know it?
A world where an open-source sublabXL ever evolves and flourishes for generations of bassheads to come?
Imagine what your lab could become with everyones fork in it. Github is the answer to your problems!
Youve got this unrefined hunk of gold on your desktop,
youve already seen profits
youre quickly losing an entire OS of customers(again because its apparent youre the only developer on this)
At least, that being a fair assumption given the sequoia beta released towards the beginning of the year, not to mention the empty beta promises.
How you gonna promise beta on Friday, then take the weekend off without even taking 13 seconds to let us know that you wouldnt make your own deadline? How many thousands of people are you showing that its prob best to look for alternatives to the software they paid you for? Even if i do get back in the lab i could never recommend any of my friends or family or anyone i ever collab with to actually spend money of the 1:1 and only plugin that doesnt work upon OS updates… This is wild
Just uploaded the first beta. We’ve tested here and it is installing correctly and also passing basic tests on macOS Sequoia. If you can install and let me know if you encounter any issues, it would be much appreciated!
thank you! you sir are my new favorite person! i would apologize for my irritable comments however they seem to have helped fuel the fire under your butt so i’ll just thank you again instead and immediately backup my time machine!
Launch button works, but resizing is doing some funky things to the UI (the ‘sound’ and ‘tone’ displays move relative to the window size).
Appreciate the update, but to be beta testing this 6 months after this was brought to your attention is simply disrespectful to your paying customers and I’ve lost all faith in your company. You all don’t seem too bothered by that, which is fascinating.
On first launch, I entered my email/password incorrectly, this crashed the whole program, rather than displayed a ‘wrong user/pass’ dialog. Re-launched and entered correctly, which launched properly.
When launching in standalone mode, I can’t change presets. Drop-down shows presets and I can select them, but doing so doesn’t load the preset in the main window. Same for the quick-selection arrows, they just do nothing on clicking. Running as a plugin works normally.
As @andyhop mentioned in their post, when resizing the UI, the grey background images in the ‘Sound’ and ‘Tone’ sections stays in place and doesn’t scale with the window. This doesn’t seem to have the problem when launching in standalone:
Ok, that seems to be an issue with resizing of openGL components…we’ll have a look today.
@andyhop I totally see where your coming from and appreciate the frustration.
The thing is on our side, we use software to build SubLab XL that also won’t work with Sequoia, literally everything breaks, from Pace for AAX to basic stuff like the openGL issue that has highlighted above. Its unfortunate that it ends up being painful every time apple releases a major release, but its pretty much the game we are in.
Thanks for testing and we’ll get another build out today
Glad to see it’s working again. I know how much it sucks from both the consumer and company side when things go wrong, but all that matters is FAW has always pulled through when there have been issues.
Thank you to @Gavin_FAW and @Julia for all the hard work and support!
