Why is there an issue with protools

As per dozens of other cases my sublab plugin isn’t showing in protools.

I’m running Mac m1 sonoma protools 2024 and the Aax plugin is in the used plugins folder.

It shows at the start of protools on the protools picture as loading but once in session it’s nowhere to be seen in the plugins list.

I have downloaded the 32/64 beta and the m1 version from a link on another post however no sublab showing.

This is getting ridiculous now.

Hi @boabyd23 firstly apologies for the delayed reply

So, I’m pretty sure that initially it wasn’t showing up because the M1 installer doesn’t contain the AAX that you need for ProTools. But, if you’ve now installed the 32/64 then you should now have the AAX.

Could you check these paths to make sure that the files are there?

Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Avid > Audio > Plug-Ins>SubLab.aaxplugin

Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/SubLab.component

Let me know if you see them or not.

Hi Julia thanks for the reply.

I did a re-install and managed to get sublab showing up using the links you provided other users.

However the new issue is I loaded up protools the other day and sublab is missing from protools plugin list again.

I’ve checked both folder locations and the plugins are there. It shows up In logic no problem but is now missing from protools.

I’m on the latest protools, latest Mac OS on m1 MacBook Pro.

@boabyd23 Could you try this?

  1. Quit Pro Tools and launch Finder.
  2. Click Go and select Go to Folder…
  3. Enter ~/Library/Preferences/Avid and click Go.
  4. Delete the Pro Tools folder.
  5. Restart your computer and relaunch Pro Tools.

Pro Tools will rescan all available plug-ins upon startup and hopefully find SubLab.
