Can you let me know what DAW you are using and also if VST/AU/Standalone?
My feeling it that you might new to try reinstalling and making sure that you are installing version 3 beta. I’d recommend deleting any existing zips and dmg. Once unziped they all look the same and its easy to get them mixed up.
I had a look here…that sounds like audio engine is not starting. Is this standalone or plugin? Also if you click on the “sublab” logo, you should see the build date and time on the about page…if you can get that far can you let me know what it says on the about page?
Testing in standalone which doesn’t work. However, AU VST, and VST3 work in Ableton 12 (12.1).
Note I had to install beta 2 and then beta 3 for it to work. I installed beta 3 first and it would not log in. Installed beta 2 which allowed me to log in, however, VST/AU and Standalone were broken as far as no audio playback and not being able to select plugins. After installing beta 3 the plugins work but just standalone has the no preset selection bug / no audio playback engine.

Ok, @frankpanduh can you click on the audio unit in /Library/Application Support/Audio/Plugins/Components/SubLab.component and check the version number?
I’m wondering where the 1.0.4 is coming from as the installer put 1.0.9 on there.
SubLabXL-Installer-1.0.4-Sequoia-macOS-Beta3 (allowed me to sign in but audio was broken and preset select didn’t work)
SubLab-Installer-1.0.9-Sequoia-macOS-Beta3 (installed last, VST/AU work in ableton, however standalone broken)
Note I also ran the most recent beta installer again:
SubLab-Installer-1.0.9-Sequoia-macOS-Beta3
before posting here to check if it changed the component version changed but it stayed 1.0.4.
Just I removed the 3 (AU, VST, VST3) and standalone app and ran the most recent installer [SubLab-Installer-1.0.9-Sequoia-macOS-Beta3].
However after the installer finished, I noticed it didn’t install anything not even the standalone app.
So I ran the older image again:
SubLabXL-Installer-1.0.4-Sequoia-macOS-Beta2
Which at least installs the standalone again a bit non-functional with no audio out nor preset selection but the app is installed again, However the (AU, VST, VST3) in Ableton 12.1 works.
Also, note when I open the SubLab-Installer-1.0.9-Sequoia-macOS-Beta3. It unzips as.
SUBLAB-M1.dmg
When I open either 1.0.4 Sequoia beta
SubLabXL-Installer-1.0.4-Sequoia-macOS-Beta2
SubLabXL-Installer-1.0.4-Sequoia-macOS-Beta3
It Unzips as:
There is some super weird going on @frankpanduh because once the you remove the SubLab.component, it should always over write either the existing file or if there is none there, it should then go ahead and copy in a new one.
The only thing is if you are not logged in with admin privileges, then that might mean that you don’t have write access. But then you would never have been able to install SubLab in the first place!
Let me double check everything and see if there is something that I might have missed…
The only thing that is weird is 1.0.4 on SubLab…just to make sure you are getting this, SubLabXL is a different product and is on 1.0.4…SubLab is on 1.0.9 and both of these have their own separate installer, which you have highlighted.
SubLabXL-Installer-1.0.4-Sequoia-macOS-Beta2 is not older that SubLab-Installer-1.0.9-Sequoia-macOS-Beta3
Ok, so this is further good info…can you double make sure that you delete the sublab.component and then run the latest sublab installer and check the data?
I’m on a M1 Pro on 15.1 Sequoia, and I’d been having the same issue as everyone else where it wasn’t opening after authenticating. I just tried the beta link posted here, and it’s finally working perfectly on my end so far with my specs.
done everything mate, deleted the folders, audio vsts and au plugin files, uninstalled the product, and reinstalled correctly, still having the issue. I am using Ableton live
I installed and uninstalled this Beta 3 times and then it finally produced bass… as opposed to static. Hope this can be made stable. Not very enthusiastic about XL considering regular crashed already and I could not use it for some time.
Trash the plugins, DAW will just say they’re missing and not crash, then redo your bass some other way on a new version. Keep the old project in case it gets sorted.
the beta seems to have fixed all of my current issues on Mac OS 15.0.1 for both the standalone application and in Ableton Live 12 Suite Beta 12.1.5b3. For those that have issues, I recommend to uninstall it with Audio Plugin Uninstaller by Wide Blue Sounds and than reinstall the beta and it should work for you.
As of Nov 2024, Plugin Boutique are still offering the old SubLab (ver 1.1.8) that crashes with Sequoia 15.0.1
I had to go around the houses a bit to find this thread, with it’s working beta. Was very close to registering a refund from PB.
Perhaps you should contact PB about updating their version? Now that it works, I’m enjoying it but It was definately not a good first impression of your software/company.
