SubLab DMG installed but no VST option; can't find it in my DAW

Hi guys (and girls)!

My SubLab is not findable as Plugin in my DAW. Although it said that:

SubLab is:

  • Available as VST2, VST3, AU, AAX

  • Tested in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic, Studio One, Pro Tools and Cubase

  • NKS ready for Native Instruments Machine and Komplete Kontrol

  • Compatible with Mac OS 10.13 and higher

…etc.

I can only install (and use) it as a separate program. I have a Apple M4 Max with macOS Tahoe 26.4.1. My DAW is Cubase 14.

What am I doing wrong (for installation, or how to find it in Cubase)?

Hey @GrinzPoes

Ok, so just to confirm, we’re talking about SubLab and not SubLab XL.

Do you happen to have Ableton Live installed…even the demo. If you do is SubLab showing up there?

Does the standalone ( sublab.app in /Application ) make a sound?

Indeed! SubLab not XL. I don’t have Ableton though…

The SubLab.vst as well as vst3 are in the Mac Plug-Ins folder.

The standalone app does not make a sound. When I press “Sample” it just says: “Waiting…”

And the compressor can’t be put on our off.

That seems like SubLab is not attached to an audio card and so it is stuck. Can you change presets?

What audio presets exactly? I can (and have) edited the Output in SubLab and have “test” it. It makes a sound at that moment.

But… I have found out where I can find SubLab in Cubase exactly. Although I can not find SubLab in the VST Plug-in Manager, when I add a separate “Instrument” it will be able to be found in the instrument (of course in Synth).

Thnx for thinking along!
