Logic 10.5 SubLab issues?

Just starting a thread here for people who are experiencing crashes in Logic 10.5 with the latest version.

Can you reply to this thread with the following information:

  1. What is the full version number displayed on the about page SubLab. To check, just click “sublab” in the top left hand corner and note the full version number that is displayed including the date.

  2. What buffer size and sample rate are you using in Logic 10.5

  3. Do you have a crash report from Logic X? To check if you have, follow the details at the link below:

https://bjango.com/help/crashlogmac/#:~:text=Crash%20logs%20contain%20information%20about,needed%20on%20Lion%20and%20above).

  1. Describe as best you can how to recreate the crash. Eg. “Load sublab on channel, open interface, play midi note…”

  2. What is the version of macOS and Logic X you are running.

Once I have this info, I’ll be able to get a better idea of what is going on.

  1. Version 1.1.4 (R407)
  2. 128 buffer size and 44.1 khz sample rate
  3. When using the musical typing or piano roll to play a note in SubLab, the entire system crashes on spot.
  4. 10.15.5 Catalina
  1. Version 1.1.4
  2. 256 buffer size and 44.1 kHz sample rate
  3. When I create a new track using SubLab it works good but whenever I close logic or my computer and reopen it, all of the audio from my SubLab track dissappears.
  4. macOS version is 10.15.5 Catalina and Logic X version is 10.5.1

@easy_ebreezy, Can you get a crash report from Logic?

We’re testing here with 10.15.3 and Logic 10.5.0, I’m going to upgrade and see if the crash appears.

@easy_ebreezy, I think I have found what is causing the issue.

Can you create a new project in Logic X and instead of selecting SubLab -> Mono, select SubLab -> Stereo from the list. Let me know if selecting stereo fixes the crash.

Yes I’ll try it here soon. If it works I don’t need a refund

It works! Thanks you I guess it was a lot of sound for mono

Good news, I’m just uploading a version that will work mono too, will send you the link when it is ready @easy_ebreezy

  1. Version 1.1.4 (R407)
  2. 128 buffer size and 44.1 khz sample rate
  3. When midi notes is used
  4. Catalina 10.15.5
    Logic 10.5.1

It seems to be working in stereo, however on one of my tracks it works in mono for some reason but in the others it will not.

  1. Version 1.1.4 (R418)
  2. Buffer Size: 512
    Sample Rate: 44.1 KHZ
  3. Some projects “quit unexpectedly” upon opening, other projects open but when I attempt to play a note using the sublab it crashes all audio and a click/pop can be heard.
  4. macOS Catalina, 10.15.6

Last week Logic was giving me a message that located Sublab as the issue, now it just gives me the ‘Logic Pro X quit unexpectedly’ message.

Hey @hwatt

What type of Apple Mac are you using?

Also, are you using the mono version of SubLab?

I’m testing here with Logic 10.5 and it is working well. I haven’t had any crashes but I will keep trying and see if I can get one.

Gavin.

@hwatt

Been working through it here and I can recreate it which is a great start. Seems that some noise is coming from the distortion when you play the first note.

Hi @Gavin_FAW,

Thanks for your help.

I am using a Mac Mini (Late 2012).

Yes, I always use the mono version of SubLab.

I just opened up a a new project and created a new SubLab track in stereo with no issues. However, when I switch over to the mono version, as soon as I attempt to play a note on my midi keyboard, all audio cuts out. When I delete the track, my computer audio comes back.

Hey @hwatt,

Just doing a build here of a new version with a number of fixes, I’ll send you on the links when it is ready.

Thanks,
Gavin.

Hi @Gavin_FAW,

Ok great.

Do you know when this new version will be available?

Cheers,
Henry

@Gavin_FAW

When will this be available to download?

Hey @Aggmani,

We’ve got a version of SubLab with a fix for the dropped audio in Logic, if you want to download the version at the link below…let me know if it fixes the issue, that would really help.

Thanks,
Gavin.
