Have FAW completely given up?

Updates for Apple Silicon and Sequoia has been in beta for years without making it to general release. Is this a software company that has slowly given up?

Hey @braver909,

We’re here! Have you got the beta versions?

Thanks,

Gavin.

I’ve got the beta versions for years, but it’s worrisome that they never progress to general release

i completely agree, last i heard Gavins response to me was basically ā€˜ā€˜ehmmmm i dont know, maybe its a problem with juice’’ and even though i got Sublab XL to have access to the features, it doesnt help with my 100+ projects, that now just straight up don’t sound like they used to because of the non working Sublab. I had to release a song for an artist that didn’t have the 808 sound the artist and everyone involved had settled on, to all of our dismay, which is entirely unacceptable in a professional setting. And the reason is entirely out of my hands as a producer. I sometimes wonder if the Community is walled off behind a seperate login to quarter this problem off from the general public as best they can

Ok, I totally take on board what your say @wendt1998.

Your particular problem related to the multi monitor setup, we were not able to fix at the time and it was not for want of trying, bar buying your exact monitor and testing. I’m totally up for trying again.

No it does not.

And the reason i know this, is that i am not running a multi monitor setup (also, i can’t find it in our communications where we established that as being the case).

The weird thing is that i’ve found a Beta version (1.0.9-Sequoia-macOS-Release-181124) that works, the even weirder thing is, that beta was developed and uploaded here by you guys multiple months before the one i was sent by you on email. We last spoke in Jan 2025 and the version that is the newest beta and works, was uploaded nov 2024.

Furthermore, that version is still not available on plugin boutique, where i have my purchase (even though i’ve asked to migrate it to your website to be able to download the newest version without having to contact support each and every time) and THAT version (1.1.8 if i remember correctly) that you have available at one of your official retailers (PIB) still crashes.

It can feel kinda maddening knowing that you had the solution right there, but just didn’t provide it. It’s very much by happenstance that i randomly checked this thread today because i had to pull up some old projects. And knowing how many hours i put in trying to save projects, having to deal with crashes in sessions with artists and other producers and changing songs because this product didn’t work does actively make me quite angry, again especially knowing that the version that works had existed for months. The fact that no one had the thought of reaching out to your (and im flustered at the fact that this is the case) paying customers, who had experienced this problem when you fixed the issue i will just never understand.

I’m very curious to hear your thoughts on this.

Hey @wendt1998 I reached out to Plugin Boutique quite a while back to confirm that they’ve made all the most recent installers available on their site. You don’t have the most recent installers in your PIB account right now? If so, that’s a major concern and I will contact them immediately. Please let me know.

Also I just checked our support messages and I sent you the updated installer link in early December.

Hey @braver909 to hopefully clear up the confusion around the update/Apple Silicon/Sequoia – because I understand it is a bit confusing.

The current macOS build is the official release build.

Here’s what happened:

1. Sequoia broke our existing activation system: i.e. substantial changes to Apple’s security architecture.

2. We fixed it quickly and posted that build as a ā€œbetaā€ first to test that it was working, fixed the issue and was stable.

3. Once confirmed, we updated all the installers on our website and provided them to Plugin Boutique and our other distributors.

4. We didn’t make a big ā€œofficial release announcementā€ because it was a small, targeted hotfix only for macOS, so we treated it as a silent patch rather than a major release.

5. I’ve confirmed specifically with Plugin Boutique since then to make sure that they’ve made the latest installers available and they said that they have. If they have not, please do let me know so that I can chase this up with them.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Having bought Sublab on PIB this is the extend of the download options, 119 has never been available thorugh their portal.

It very well might be, and it works, but it isnt a built i have ever had access to, partly because its not in pib, and partly because noone sent it to me (like i literally had to find it myself in the forum just yesterday)

  1. Looking through all of our previous communication, that was never the explanation from your side. This is the first time it’s being communicated to me that you guys knew the cause of the issue. (im not trying to be facetious, if you have solid proof that you told me that, feel free to show me)

2. If you did do that, it seems very weird that i was i contact with you guys for months after, and wasnt sent that Beta at any point

3. And that, as i established in my previous message, just simply isnt the case as the newest download on pluginboutique is 1.1.8

4. I’m not saying you shouldve shouted from the rooftop, but perhaps informing customers who had that specific issue and were left in the dust regarding a fix would’ve gone a long way in re-establishing your reputation, which seems to not be in the best place with man customers from what ive read in the forums lately.

5. see screenshot from my immediate previous message*

ive replied to your email, and im finding it a bit odd that im recognizing next to nothing of the procedure youre describing we went through and only able to verify very litte of what you claim about our cummincation even though i have supposedly all of it in my email folder. (i also have all the previously sent Betas of sublab saved as well and the Beta (or official version as you called it) i just found in the forums stright up just isnt amongst them or mentioned in any email we ever sent)

@wendt1998 Here are the messages I sent on December 12, and then following up with you again on December 23 to make sure that you had received the new installer link I sent.
