Notes Beta 3 [1.0.3]

Another week, another improved Notes :musical_notes:

Here’s the initial change list:

Here are the installers:
:link: macOS Beta 3 Installer

:link: Windows Beta 3 Installer

  1. Added Sound Design Mode. When enabled, you can edit and map instruments.
  2. Allows pack export, renaming, etc.
  3. Improved import of Decent Sampler and SFZ files.
  4. Fixed a crash when opening and closing the interface while an instrument is loading.
  5. Improved processor usage across DSP modules and fixed issues with high processor usage in the Vintage insert effect on certain processors.
  6. Fix issue with beta 1, where the VST3 was not registering correctly due to installer changes.

Thanks again for helping make Notes the best out there!

@Notes_Beta_Testers I’ve added the Windows build!

Hello, I purchase Notes and it installed with no problems. But it’s not showing in my DAW for some reason. Sublab and Sublab XL shows up in my DAW, but Notes doesn’t appear. I see Notes in my plugin library, and as a App. To use the App it requires mac Os 11.7… Anyhow, just want to use it in my DAW as a vst. One more thing, I try to register my Notes purchase couldn’t do that for some reason, it didn’t take me to the activation page it just gave me some instructions that didn’t work. I purchase Notes and Sublab XL, was able to register and activate sublab XL. The download installer I have for Notes 1.0.1-116225-macOS.dmg, don’t know if that matters.

I’ve noticed where the pops and clicks come from within the bass engine patches and it’s due to the velocity strikes when pressing keys. Just a heads up I noticed.

@Gavin_FAW Thanks for this update! Great to hear about the performance improvements, I note (haha) what @kory said and as you know, I’ve been having similar issues on macOS with CPU + RAM usage.

Did the plugin ID change? My previous projects with Notes broke where I was using an Ableton .adg to contain the VST3, and I can add new instances, but NOT load older ones.

Thanks for bringing that up @TORLEY , I’m experiencing the same and would like to ask the team, is there a way to install the beta along with the latest stable release?

Hey guys,

Just working through it here…

@TORLEY is the audio unit showing up? Also have you got two VST3 plugins in your daw?

@Gavin_FAW while I don’t use the AU, yes it shows up. There’s only ONE VST3 plugin, but the older instances don’t load.

I ALSO do see this error, even when Notes is added:

Error when creating plug-in: Configuration doesn’t match plug-in type.

I was noticing something like that awhile back, I’m still able to repro it with patches like “Dead Wrong” where I can play quickly and hear unwanted clicks.

Ok, we have a fix the macOS VST3 issue, I’ll upload.

With the “**Error when creating plug-in: Configuration doesn’t match plug-in type.”

Is that with the VST or the audio unit.**

Thanks,

Gavin.

It just happens with the VST3.

Ok, thanks Torley…new build is just finishing here and will upload it in the next few hours :flexed_biceps:

Thanks again!

We’ll then go through the rest of the issues pointed out ( tape loudness, clicks on bass engine etc)

@TORLEY ok, uploaded the new Beta 2 with the VST3 fix.

Can we get that Windows version please??

@Gavin_FAW no Windows version yet!? wassup?

@TORLEY can you confirm that the issue with macOS plugin not getting recognised is fixed with with the Beta 2 macOS installer?
