Own Samples or Wavetables?

Ok, I just entered the Frey  . I have one Q, and an idea/Request

Q: I was wondering, as I couldn’t really find anything at a glance. Will you implement “your own sound” files? and or Wavetables? Drag and drop or upload to the plugin?

Request: I must say I love the plugin very much and can’t help but hope you also “Outboard” those amazing effects tools you have, like the Tape and Lazer, just for example, would be such a win as a Notes-Effects plugin like Zebra or Serum, for instance.

What would also be awesome is if you could split the two engines at a keymap level so it becomes easier to have, like in the “Dead Wrong” patch, a mono synth as bass, but don’t have it span the whole keyboard. This would make creating chords and bass in one Midi region very flexible.

Ok, I’m sorry, I just found the drag and drop sample function…:sad_but_relieved_face: great! But I also noticed there’s no Undo function. This would be great, just in case you drag a sample in or make a change, and you want it back to where you were before that change.

I also noticed that, when using synth in monophonic mode, there is no way to get rid of that transition click when you legato notes, especially when using bass synths.

That was my whole issue with Notes, I hope it’s fixed with this new update coming out

Yeah it’s annoying but for the rest that Maschine is absolutely Peak!

Hey! Thanks for your suggestions and for checking out Notes

There are currently three ways to add your own sounds to Notes.

Import samples, add Decent Sampler and SFZ instruments, and create your own Multikeys instruments.

I’ll let @Gavin_FAW get back to you on the other points you mentioned.

Wow the “decent sampler and sfz” options I did not know yet great info thank you so much Julia!!!:folded_hands:t3:

I know I talk a lot, but I’ve noticed that the "sequence! Function inside the chord sets is not always working? I wonder why this is so challenging. I love the option, but I can’t seem to get my own sequences going … Help?

Are you macOS @Janvdt? If so check the new 1.1 update here:

Notes Beta 1.1.0 (macOS)

Hi Gavin, yessir! I’m M4-Max-128GB_URam and 8TB SSD System_15.7.2 Ableton 12.4.5b6

Thank you. Can’t wait to test it. Notes has become my go-to tool!

Ok so I installed it I guess I already had that version because I didn’t notice any changes…? is it me?

If you hover over the chords name, a pencil appears and you can click that to edit chords. Are you seeing that?

edit-chords

Hi Gavin, yes, I see it, and I have been using it. For some reason, I have to click single notes 4x, not 2x, and then sometimes they re-apear also I can’t really add my own notes sometimes, but then sometimes I can, and I don’t know why that is the case. I also noticed you can’t just erase(delete) all notes; there always has to be at least one. Is that correct?

Sorry, let me explain it a little better. When the Note button is assigned to C#1, I can’t add my own MIDI notes because they trigger the Note function instead. However, I can add notes while I’m in Chord Builder mode. So am I supposed to create my melodies in Chord Builder mode first, and then switch back to Note mode afterward to hear how they sound?

That sounds like you might not have the latest version with bug fixes. Try downloading 1.1 and installing and all that should be fixed.

Adding/removing notes should work the same everywhere, single click adds a note and double click removes it. You should be able to move them around easily, shorten and lengthen…basically the same as if you were editing a midi clip in Ableton Live.

I did, yesterday however, I did not test that function on it yet, will do so now! Thnx for the heads up!
