# Unable to install Notes on Reason 13 (Mac)

Hi,
Has anyone had issues installing Notes?
Notes crashes/hangs after 45-minutes of Reason 13 attempting to scan the plugin.
I put in a support ticket, and received a message that stated their response may take longer than usual. So I decided to put a query to the FAW community.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah @T.R.U.E, see if it loads in Ableton and that will let me know if it is an installer issue or not.

Hi GAvin,
I just tried loading Notes in Ableton 11 Suite, and it crashed the program.
In addition, only the AU component of the plugin is available; even though the VST and VST3 versions are in their respective plugin folders.
I hope I’m able to get this issued resolved. But unfortunately, this plugin and expansion are a goose egg for me. I’m super bummed.

Yeah, we can totally issue a refund asap, the only thing is that I’d love to know what exactly is going on so I can try and fix it.
What is you current setup? ( macOS version, computer etc )
Does the standalone in /Applications launch?

I appreciate that. However, I would like to resolve the issue if possible. If not, I would definitely look into getting a refund.

No. When I tried to open it, I received a dialog box that indicate Notes quit unexpectedly.

Ok, I think your setup def has the power to run Notes, but I’m worried that there might be some compatibility issues, especially with the chip and some stuff we have going on internally (AVX2) and maybe the graphics card. I’d love to be able to support the mac pro you have, but it might be that we spend a few days getting it going, it might not work and also not so many other people will have this exact setup, due to this it becomes super hard to have devs working on it without an assured outcome.

I think you’re right. The writing is on the wall for my Mac Pro. I’ll pivot back to Notes when I upgrade to an M1 Mac.

Yeah, like its a great computer, its just things move so fast these days…maybe in 40 years people will be going crazy looking for old computers to run “vintage” plugins!

Agreed. Plus with Apple discontinuing the Mac Pro line, an M series Mac is definitely in my near future. Hey…as long as Apple supports Rosetta, M series Macs will be able to run Intel apps (vintage plugins). At least, that’s what I’m counting on. Ha ha.
I’ll be on the lookout for the refund.
Oh…where should I look to delete Note’s sample files (if you will). It was a 7 GB install, so I’m sure so peripheral files were tucked away somewhere. I’ll run “Delete Apps” which should grab everything, However, I’m hyper-retentive; and felt it prudent to inquire should something go awry when deleting the plugin.

Hello, I think I found the issue why my DAW which is Reason 14 isn’t Recognizing the plugin Notes. So the reason I think it isn’t working is because it doesn’t have future Audio workshop as a manufacture. The reason why I came to this conclusion, when I see sublab and sublab XL in my DAW manage plugins it says that, sublab and sublab XL manufacture is future Audio workshop. But Notes plugin says unknown, I think that’s kinda odd. And Notes wont even open as a stand alone **neither** for some reason. I’ll leave some screenshots

Not sure if Timbuk’s could have been the reason Notes would not work on my Intel Mac; aside from what you disclosed about "my [computer’s] chip and some stuff you all have going on internally (AVX2) and maybe my graphics card.
Lastly, I purchased Notes from the Future Audio Workshop website, and not via PluginBoutique.

I did make my first purchase of Notes from Plugin Boutique. Then I repurchase Notes from FAW site. The purchase I made from Plugin Boutique I couldn’t get it [activat](https://futureaudioworkshop.com/my-account/activation-codes/)ed for some reason. I followed the instructions it just never work for me, so I repurchase Notes from FAW site, than I was able to Activate Notes. I still need to do a Return on Plugin Boutique (Notes) purchase, since that particular purchase was giving me activation issues.

Are you able to get Reason 14 to recognize the Notes plugin and standalone app, or are you still having issues with the manufacturer showing up as “unknown” in your plugin manager?
Also, which Mac are you runing, Intel of Apple Silicon (M-Series)?

Hello, I’m on a Intel mac Os 11.7.11. Reason do recognize the Notes plugin it just gives me an error msg while loading Reason plugins or checking for plugins, standalone app just says Notes can’t be open because of a problem. I reached out to Gavin\_FAW, just haven’t heard back yet. I just think it has something to do with manufacturer info for that particular plugin which is Notes.
