[Archieve Beta Links] Circle 2.1.3 RC9 - NKS, DAW timeline sync, Font improvements

Hey everyone,

Just uploaded a new beta of Circle 2.1.3 RC5 for OSX

In this update, we’ve fixed a couple of bugs, added NKS support along with a new feature: DAW timeline sync for modulations. This new feature means that Circle2’s internal clock for modulations is now tied to the position of the DAW’s timeline. The main improvement this brings is that LFO and Sequencer timings and position should now always be repeatable musically. It was highlighted a lot of times via support that it was difficult to get musically repeatable results with the modulation if you didn’t want a note to always re-trigger the modulation’s phase. By using the hosts timeline instead of note values, we can make sure that the modulation cycles always follow the hosts bar and beat timings.

Changelog since 2.1.2 RC5

  • Fixed random crash in Live 10.

  • Fixed automation not being recorded in Live and Pro Tools.

  • Fixed issue with host buffer sizes not being multiples of 32 causing crackles ( found in FL Studio 20 ).

  • Increased font size on preset display and other interface tweaks.

  • Defaults to “My Sounds” bank when saving a new preset.

  • Implemented new host timeline sync for modulations. This is enabled by turning on “host timeline sync” on the bottom bar “settings” page.

  • Fixed crash when sometimes adjusting the delay time in the bottom panel.

  • Full NKS intergration, with Maschine browser audio previews for factory bank presets and individual per-preset control mappings to the most musically interesting Circle2 controls.

  • Fixed issue with a pitched hum coming from the noise channel of the mixer, this was apparent when the noise module was off, but the mixer channel volume for the noise was not set to zero.

  • Fixed timing display of arpeggiator, in previous versions the readout was incorrect when displaying BPM synced rates (eg. “2xbpm” was in reality “4xbpm” etc).

  • Fixed load error in Pro Tools 2018.

We’re still making the NKS build available, but are holding back releasing to everyone else until the next update.

Thanks again for the help!
Gavin.

Loading Circle NKS on Windows

In Maschine / Komplete Kontrol, navigate to File > Preferences > Plug-Ins > Locations and set the custom path

“C:\Program Files\FAW\Circle2\ThirdPart\NativeInstruments\VST”

Oops! Still no microtonal support via Scala files…

*** Original Windows installer was corrupted and wouldn’t open. We’ve replaced the file now now so you’ll be good to go.

Sorry we haven’t implemented for this version. Please bear with us as we are working on some other exciting things in the background in parallel, which will be announced in due course. This is still on the list!

Circle 2.1.3.-RC 4 Windows NKS is not working in Maschine 2: “Circle 2 could not be loaded” - did a complete plugin rescan and lib rescan.

In Komplete Kontrol it’s working!

Ok, good info @digi!

@Hugh_FAW has been working on NKS for windows, he’ll get back with a more detailed response. On windows with Maschine, you’ll need to set the path of Circle2 and point it to the correct install directory of the Maschine enabled Circle2_VST.

Thanks for the report. In Maschine / Komplete Kontrol, can you go to “File > Preferences > Plug-Ins > Locations” and add this custom path:

C:\Program Files\FAW\Circle2\ThirdPart\NativeInstruments\VST

Let me know if that gets you up and running!

Great, yes thanks it’s working!
Is it planned that in the final version the special Circle2_NKS will become the default vst, so this extra step won’t be necessary anymore?

When RC6 is released for Windows?

Glad you’re up and running. We weren’t able to use the same VST file for the NKS version on Windows, so this additional step of adding a custom VST path will still be necessary in the final release version. It only needs to be set once, then will be saved in your Maschine / Komplete Kontrol settings.

RC6 for Windows will be uploaded today!

RC6 up now :grinning:

RC8 is up now as well, with the Splice builds

@Cephas_Talbot

I think you’re having an issue with the fact that Circle2 won’t install on 10.6 and your looking at a version 2.0.3

We have you on support and will help you out there…

Thanks,
Gavin.

Should I uninstall and retry? Maybe an older version, my activation key stopped working on the older build had to reinstall on my macbook to get it to work

@Cephas_Talbot, we’ll need to do a new build. We had to stop supporting 10.6. Do you want to try an earlier build and see how that goes? 10.6 is a good way back, but I think ~2.0.1 should work.

Here are some of the older version links:

NKS in RC8 for Win gone again! :frowning:
In RC4 it was included in the default installer.

That’s strangest Beta-Program I’ve joined so far!

Hey @digi

We’re actually holding back the release of NKS until 2.2 but want to get it tested. Native Instruments require a good bit of time for quality control so want to get it beta tested with 2.1.3 first then release as part of 2.2. @Hugh_FAW is working on a new 2.1.3 build and we’ll add back in NKS on windows.

Gavin.

Sorry for the confusion, I removed the RC8 NKS installer link for Windows as some issues were found that we needed to fix. If this happens again I’ll leave a note in its place, so it’s clear why the link has been removed.

All RC9 links for Windows are up now, NKS Windows is back and ready for you to give it a whirl

Thanks for the testing!
